been wondering as i read thru children of dune bc there’s no way this was going to be treated as a good outcome. i doubted herbert taking a route where they do actually end up wanting it bc gestures at rest of the books and how incest is simply a true horror, though honestly leto ii genuinely developing unrequited feelings for ghanima now would be a way to further dehumanize him in the context of the series. i also couldn’t see them being forced to marry bc this is mr god emporer of dune himself lol like who could possibly Force him to marry her. but yeah the way/reason it happens is cool and satisfying and i do love the drama of leto ii literally posing himself and ghanima before farud’n to make his point about the marriage.
